Dubai Taxi sector trips expand at a spectacular rate in Q1 2023

In compared to the same period in the previous year, Dubai's taxi industry has seen strong development, with the first quarter of 2023 seeing a spectacular 6 percent growth.

This amount exceeds the values reported during the same time period in 2019 by a sizeable margin of 5%.

"Over the past five years, the taxi industry in Dubai has experienced a spectacular growth trajectory. The number of taxi rides reached a startling 27.3 million in the first quarter of this year, showing a constant increase trend when compared to the similar periods in prior years. 26 million trips were made in 2022, 19.2 million in 2021, 23.3 million in 2020, and 26.1 million in 2019, according to Adel Shakri, director of planning and business development at the RTA's public transportation agency.

"This sector, especially e-hail services, smart rental services, and Hala Taxi service, had an exceptional rise, marking its biggest increase in recent years. The examination of the sector's numbers and ratios for the first quarter of 2023 demonstrates Dubai's booming economy, which has solidified its position as a major international hub for business and tourism, Shakri continued.
