UAE : announces 50% reduction in Sharjah traffic fines
On Thursday, it was announced that Sharjah traffic fines for drivers will now be reduced by 50%.
In addition to halving the amount of traffic fine penalties, impoundment orders and black points for infractions incurred prior to March 31, 2023, according to Lieutenant-Colonel Muhammad Alai, director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Sharjah Police, would be removed.
The discount is available to drivers for one month.
Sharjah announced earlier this week that as of April 1, 2023, drivers would receive a 35% discount if the fine is paid within 60 days of the violation's date of commission. Car owners will receive a 25% discount if they pay the fine within 60 to 1 year after the infraction.
