A foreign woman has given birth on an RTA double-decker bus in Dubai

On Thursday, the RTA posted a photo of a group of female employees and bus drivers paying a visit to the mother and child.

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that a Ugandan mother and her newborn baby who were travelling on an interstate bus from Dubai to Ajman are both doing well.

Marygoldcez Carolino Diwa De Castro and Ailen Pueto Leao Francisco of the Philippines and Gladys Jepkemoi Kiprotich of Kenya are among the female RTA employees and bus drivers seen visiting the mother and child in a photo tweeted by the RTA on Thursday.

The mother gave birth in the cabin of a double-decker interstate bus travelling between Dubai and Ajman, according to RTA. Both mother and child were in good health after the natural birth and subsequent transfer to the hospital.

RTA congratulated the mother and made a home visit to check on the newborn. The RTA also provided them with a nol card, which can be used to pay for rides on the city's public transit system as well as purchases at many stores and supermarkets.
