Intelligent Taxi-Top Billboard Initiative launched in Abu Dhabi

In conjunction with operating firms and the necessary strategic players, the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) in Abu Dhabi has announced the beginning of the Smart Billboard initiative for taxi cars.

This action is consistent with the ITC's commitment to provide the public with cutting-edge, high-quality advertising content. The idea involves installing digital billboards on cab roofs to promote goods and services in association with sponsors from regional firms and enterprises in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

According to the ITC, the experiment began with 50 taxis from the Tawasul Transport company and will eventually include 100 taxis from the same company after the trial phase. It is important to note that there are 6,400 taxis running in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The project, according to the Integrated Transport Centre, is in keeping with its goal to accelerating the emirate of Abu Dhabi's digital transformation and enhancing public access to its digital services infrastructure.

By investing in cutting-edge technologies that benefit the community and build smarter cities in the Emirate in terms of services and business practises, the ITC aims to meet future requirements and advance Abu Dhabi's vision. The project also intends to enhance the digital marketing industry by addressing diverse societal sectors with effective and innovative marketing messages, as well as to apply new marketing and digital promotional tactics for these services.

The ITC claims that mounting billboards on cab rooftops helps supply diversified and interesting advertising content to customers and passersby in line with cutting-edge developments in the field of digital marketing.
