The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reports that a tropical storm, category 1 Biparjoy, is presently located in the middle of the Arabian Sea at latitude 15 north and longitude 66.3.

With a formation of rainy convective clouds already present around the depression, the wind speed around the centre ranges from 135 to 145 km/h. The tropical cyclone Cat. 1 is anticipated to maintain its current strength for the next 24 hours, according to computer models and data from the regional hurricane monitoring centre.

Its course will be towards the north-northeast in the Arabian Sea, where the tropical cyclone is moving at a speed of 4 km/hr and winds blow from 140 to 155 km/hr around its centre.

The NCM was clear that the cyclone would not affect the nation throughout the course of the following five days.
