The Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications Office has released a thorough guide on the use of generative AI applications in accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, to intensify research and efforts towards promoting the adoption of futuristic technologies in government work models.

The "Generative AI" guide is a helpful tool for government organisations, enabling them to take advantage of the advantages of AI technology and improve their implementation in a variety of disciplines.

Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, commented on the launch and emphasised the UAE government's commitment to maintaining its position as a global leader in the technology and artificial intelligence sectors by developing proactive strategies, working on legislative and regulatory frameworks to limit the improper use of technology and overcome its challenges, and keeping up with technological advancement.

Al Olama added that the publication of the "Generative AI" guide is a proactive move that exemplifies the goals and vision of the UAE government in terms of influencing and inspiring the digital world. Utilising generative AI applications is essential for taking advantage of important future opportunities. One such application is ChatGPT, which has amassed over 100 million users in just a few months. Its use in a variety of industries, such as education, healthcare, and wellbeing, holds enormous promise for improving development and productivity as well as causing a seismic upheaval in a number of crucial industries.

The UAE continually places a high priority on the creation of innovative AI solutions, particularly generative AI. This technology is highly valued since it has the ability to open up new opportunities in a variety of industries. The potential of generative AI lies in the application of algorithms created specifically to produce novel content, such as images, video clips, music, or texts, that mimics human creativity. It is performed by teaching algorithms to recognise key trends and characteristics in data in order to produce unique content that is similar to the original. Generative AI develops something fresh and original, as opposed to non-generative AI, which merely classifies or identifies existing data.

The manual offers a thorough explanation of generative artificial intelligence, examines the difficulties and possibilities presented by various digital technologies, suggests the best strategies for managing these technologies, emphasises the value of data privacy in the current digital environment, elaborates on the fundamentals and methodologies for utilising generative artificial intelligence technologies, and includes texts that offer the most accurate information.

The guide presents 100 examples of generative AI in use, such as text and image generation, language translation, music composition, and video synthesis. The importance of ChatGPT, one of the most fundamental and well-known generative AI applications, cannot be overstated. A number of language-based jobs that support the growth of healthcare, education, and transport services are also presented in the guide. The UAE's attempts to create and construct policies and regulations that are in line with future methods are demonstrated by the adoption of ChatGPT, which can be easily incorporated.

The book also shows how generative AI applications could be used to inform the public about government services and streamline them. These programmes can automate customer support requests, enhancing operational effectiveness and response times. They can also assess user reviews of products and services, giving decision-makers information they can use to create more sensible regulations.

The manual emphasises the advantages of using generative AI systems in education and their potential as online instructors or teaching aids. By answering questions and giving comments on assignments, these programmes can provide students with individualised and interactive guidance. By creating quizzes, instructional games, and simulation programmes, for example, teachers can use these programmes to automate administrative activities and create interactive learning materials catered to their students' interests. This can greatly improve the educational process and result in more successful outcomes.
