Symbolizing Sustainable Development

Emphasizing the nation's commitment to sustainable development, the front side of the new banknote showcases the striking architecture of Expo City Dubai's Terra Sustainability Pavilion. This visual testament reflects the UAE's dedication to a sustainable future, echoing the principles laid down by the visionary Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Showcasing Cultural and Tourism Landmarks

The reverse side of the banknote is a canvas of cultural and tourism landmarks. The prominent Museum of the Future in Dubai, a fusion of architectural and engineering brilliance, takes center stage. Additionally, iconic landmarks such as the Emirates Towers and the Burj Khalifa adorn the right side, with the latter standing tall at 828 meters, symbolizing sustainability by harnessing solar power for a majority of its energy needs.

Polymer Revolution for Sustainability

The Central Bank of the UAE made the strategic decision to use polymer material in favor of sustainability, guaranteeing that the new banknote is at least twice as durable as its conventional equivalents. The banknote's ecological imprint is greatly decreased by this sustainable decision, as it is totally reusable.

Advanced Security Features

Modern security features on the Dh500 notes include the multicolored security chip technology known as KINEGRAM COLORS®. The UAE is noteworthy for being the first nation in the Middle East to have the biggest foil strip of this type on its banknotes. This action is in line with the international campaign against counterfeiting. Notably, a trailblazing move in the realms of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa was initiated with the previous use of these security measures in the new Dh1000 currency.

With the issuance of the new polymer Dh500 banknote, the UAE not only embraces sustainability but also pioneers advancements in security features, solidifying its position as a leader in both financial innovation and environmental consciousness.
