UAE: 20 smart gates on RAK roads

The 'Safe City Project' in Ras Al Khaimah's second phase includes these.

On Sunday, it was revealed that Ras Al Khaimah authorities had started placing smart gates on major roadways throughout the emirate. The police operations room is connected to the artificial intelligence-powered gates.

Twenty smart gates will be put in strategic locations, according to Ras Al Khaimah Police Commander-in-Chief Major-General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi. Smart cameras will monitor traffic and spot incidents, while overhead panels will warn drivers of impending bad weather or accidents. The gates will facilitate quicker police response to mishaps and emergencies.

These are a component of Ras Al Khaimah's "Safe City Project"'s second phase. Integrating the gates with the 10,000 smart cameras that monitor Ras Al Khaimah as part of this phase. In the emirate's main locations, a "smart security and traffic control system" was installed and improved during the first phase. The project's overarching goal is to turn on an AI-powered security system.
