UAE weather: 48 °C in some areas and Red alert issued for fog

Early on Wednesday morning, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) of the UAE issued red and yellow advisories, advising citizens to exercise caution in the fog.

In several areas of Abu Dhabi, the alarms have been raised owing to the creation of fog, which will cause poor visibility until 8.30am.

According to the Met department, temperatures will reach 48°C in Mezaira and Razeen in Abu Dhabi and 47°C in Sweihan and Al Ain on Wednesday.

In Dubai, the day will be largely sunny and between 33°C and 40°C in temperature.

According to the NCM, low clouds will start to form over the eastern coast by morning, and there is a chance that some convective clouds may start to form by afternoon eastward.

It also mentioned that Thursday morning would be humid with a chance of mist forming over several coastal and interior areas.

There will be light to moderate southeasterly winds that will occasionally become northwesterly winds. These winds will have a speed range of 10 to 35 kilometres per hour.

The Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea will have light seas.
