Free Parking in Dubai for UAE National Day Celebration

In honor of Union Day, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced complimentary street parking from Saturday, December 2, to Monday, December 4.

Dubai's RTA Announces Free Parking and Altered Service Hours for Union Day Holiday

All public parking areas will be exempt from charges during this period, with the exception of multi-level terminals. However, standard parking fees will be reinstated beginning Tuesday, December 5, 2023.

The RTA has also released information regarding the adjusted working hours for various services, encompassing customer happiness centers, paid parking zones, public transportation modes like buses, Dubai Metro, and Tram, as well as marine transport means and vehicle technical inspection service provider centers.

Service Provider Centers (Vehicle Testing)

Support centers will be shut down from Saturday, December 2, throughout the Christmas holiday. Specifically, the provision of vehicle technical inspection services at selected centers—Tasjeel Al Twar, AutoPro Satwa, AutoPro Al Mankhool, Tasjeel Al Awir, and Al Yalayis—will recommence on Monday, December 4. Normal operations for all centers are expected to resume on Tuesday, December 5.

Customer happiness centers

Most customer satisfaction centers won't be open on holidays. Nonetheless, the RTA Head Office, Deira, Umm Ramool, Al Barsha, and Al Kifaf Smart Customer Happiness Centers will continue to run as normal around the clock.

Dubai Metro and Tram Operating Hours

Between November 30 and December 12, the Dubai Metro's red and green lines will operate from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. the next day. Simultaneously, during this timeframe, the Dubai Tram will run from Monday to Saturday, starting at 6 a.m. and concluding at 1 a.m. the following day. On Sundays, the Dubai Tram will be operational from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. the next day.

Public Buses and Route Diversions

Certain bus routes heading toward Abu Dhabi will be diverted onto Sheikh Zayed Road between December 1 and December 3. Among them are routes 10, 15, 21, 7, 8, 93, 91, E101, 98E, 96, 95A, 95, 91A, X94, X92, and E102. Due to road diversions, these routes should be prepared for delays and cancellations between 6:30 and 11 a.m. All other routes will see regular service resume, running Monday through Thursday from 4:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. the following day, Friday from 5 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. the following day, and Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. the following day. The metro link bus service will coordinate its timetable with the trips and operating hours of the metro.
